Peccatum is a Norwegian post-black metal visualise formed in 1998 by Emperor loss leader Ihsahn (existent name: Vegard Tveitan) and his married woman, Star of Ash's Ihriel (Heidi Tveitan), along with her brother, Lord PZ (PÃ¥l Solberg). Seeking to labor beyond the stylistic restrictions of black metal, the trio of classically trained vocalists (Ihsahn as well handling well-nigh all instruments: guitar, bass, keyboards, etc.) combined elements of heavy metal, Gothic rock, industrial, unexampled age, ambient, and specially classical music to adjure a extremely unconventional debut in 1999's Throttling From Within. Yet this was simply the start, as their new wave imaginativeness was taken into even unknown realms of excogitation on subsequent efforts like 2000's Oh, My Regrets EP, 2001's Amor Fati album, and particularly, 2004's Preoccupied in Reverie LP. Significantly, this last outlet was the number one recorded after Emperor's dying and Lord PZ's going.
